seein rolling stones

"SARS concert...what's dat?"
"Yeah, you go there to get SARS."
"Really?"
"No."
"Oh."

I got tickets to see the Rolling Stones the other day. haha, it was pretty cheap, so I thought why not? It's supposed to be a SARS releif concert...hm, yeah. There's no one I really care to see...Justing Timberlake, AC/DC, blah blah blah. It'll be a good experience I spose.

I've had a lot of procrastinating fun so far this summer...yesterday was hanging out with friends downtown, then we headed up to my place and slept over...well more talking than sleeping, but that's really the point of a sleepover I suppose. Oh, how do you know differentiate a mathie and nutrition major?

"What should we do downtown?"
"Dunno...heard there was a bikini contest...and a pie festival..."
"Really? Like 3.14159...!??!"
"Um...no, the food. Actually at first, I thought it was a geeky math event too..."
"And you're in nutrition?"
"...."

Yes, I'm a shame to other non mathies. Boo to Loo! Hm..I want air conditioning right now. So badly...ours is busted now. I got all sweaty just trying to make fried rice.

downtown & the comfort of silence

Posted by jan at 01:15 AM on June 21, 2003.

Took this pic (and a whole bunch of others) on Wednesday...downtown Toronto, some store selling art prints on Queen St. At the Chumcity building where they have Muchmusic they were setting up for the annual video awards but my cam was out of space otherwise I could have gotten some more interesting pics! Just hanging around downtown in those sort of modern chic bohemian cafes...love that city vibe.

I also stuck a bunch of random photos in my tabulas gallery. I'm having some good fun with my photolog...I guess I'm not doing it nearly as frequently as I'd like...well the rest of the massive collection of photos sitting on my hard drive will trickle their way online, but for now, I'm just taking it easy.

A few nights ago, was hangin out in P's backyard on the porch...2 am...enshrouded in the darkness of the early morning (utterly revved up from Timmy's caffiene & Kahlua) so we just sat around looking up at the stars. "It's like that Incubus song...looks like a black canopy with holes punched in it..." she said. So true. It was so nice just to be there. Even with the tennis court semi blocking the view..I truly haven't felt that at home in ages, even in our moments of silence.

You know what I mean...like comfortable silences. I love that. You get to the point in friendships and relationships where you can just be completely silent and not feel nervous or the annoying need to say something witty just to fill the void because the ambience is so frightening. But..when those thought don't even cross your mind...and you're just happy in each others company...that's when you know you've really got it made.

Anyway, I babble and tomorrow I gotta get up early, blow money at Ikea and grab some sushi...so I'm out. Take care all...

stupid internet explorer

Posted by jan at 04:53 PM on June 12, 2003.

This is what happens with cororate monopoly - microsoft and how they got windows xp and internet explorer 6 all integrated together...now my IE is screwed and lagging so I have to go through a big messy thing to reinstall it. I hope I don't screw up my computer...or maybe I'll just not use IE...no, I need my IE... >_<

Ooh, last week I saw Finding Nemo, that was really awesome....it was so cute~! haha but the story was excellent too. Although in the real world Nemo would have died if he got flushed down the toilet. And I'm doubtful that tropical fish would be able to survive in a harbour's water environment. And if that blue fishy had short term memory problems how did it remember the daddy fish?!?? Have those people ever seen Memento!?!

Okay, I'll shut up now, overanalysis just kills a movie. It was an excellent movie though, don't let my idiocy ruin it.
